In person registration for the 2014 -2015 hockey season is now closed. You may still register with SAMHA by clicking on the following link and following the instructions.
Remember: All who register for any of our programs must first go to the USA HOCKEY website @ usahockey.com and sign up for membership. You will be given a registration number which you will need to complete the online forms. Those born in 2007 and prior will need to pay a USA Hockey membership fee.
You may submit the forms and your membership fee to any of the SAMHA Board members listed under the "Contact" link higher on this page.
Good Skater? Interested in getting more involved with local hockey and maybe picking up a few bucks on the side? SAMHA is looking for responsible individuals interested in being game referees for the upcoming season. A Referee Clinic will be held at the John A. Millar Civic Center on October 26 from 8:30 to 3:00. Bring your skates and helmet. You can sign up here: http://www.usahockey.com/officialseminars , or contact Toby Henderson at firstname.lastname@example.org or call or text 538-8648.
The Southern Aroostook Minor Hockey Association is looking for a youth hockey parent who would like to serve as the Associaton Coordinator and Educator (ACE), who would primarily act as a go-between the board, team coaches, and parents. For more information, please contact any board member.
Starting with this coming season, SAMHA youth hockey teams will be known as the Junior Blackhawks, after the mascot of the high school Houlton-Hodgdon hockey Blackhawks. Furthermore, the present uniforms, based on those worn by the Washington Capitals from 1995 through 2007, will be scrapped in favor of a template more in line with that worn by the high school team.
Just because we're not running a bottle drive doesn't mean you still can't donate them to SAMHA. Bring your returnables to Florence Avenue Redemption and tell them that the refund is for hockey. Every nickle we receive from your generosity will go towards keeping costs down for our young athletes.
